7 YA Romance Audiobooks Perfect for Spring
by Alex Hernandez
In the spring, the sun shines bright, the air grows warmer by the day, and I pick up fresh flowers every week at the grocery store. Spring is one of my favorite seasons, and to celebrate, I’ve been listening to swoony romance audiobooks for teens. For me, listening to young adult romance novels is the sweetest way to revisit a world of first loves, adventure, and self-discovery.
In these audiobooks, characters from various backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences navigate the outside world, sometimes for the first time, and find hope in one another and themselves. The promises of a happily ever after, found family, and new beginnings make these audiobooks ideal companions to a fresh season.
If you’re a genre reader who wants to be captivated by your next romantasy novel, I have the perfect vampire page-turner for you. Maybe you’re preparing for a big move or cross-country road trip this summer and would love to press play on a cozy escape. This spring, there’s a love story on audio for every listener. Here are seven romance audiobooks for teens to help you find yours!

A Cruel Thirst
When I first listened to Angela Montoya’s debut young adult novel, Sinner’s Isle, I knew she would become one of my favorite romance authors. Each swashbuckling adventure sweeps you into the arms of her heroines, making you feel like you’re the one holding the sword! In A Cruel Thirst, Montoya delivers an irresistible tale of a vampire huntress named Carolina who must work with her greatest enemy to defeat all evil. However, to her surprise, the rookie vampire Lalo is not the monster she expected.

Say a Little Prayer
As a teen, I attended Catholic school and Sunday school, with uniforms and holy sacraments required! Even though that’s not a big part of my life anymore, I enjoy coming-of-age stories that explore what it’s like growing up in a religious community while grappling with your own identity. In Say a Little Prayer by Jenna Voris, we follow Riley and Julia as they set aside their differences, fall madly in love, and start a revolution at their church camp. What could go wrong?
-
Love Points to You
I enjoy rivals-to-lovers romance stories and seeing two young people overcome challenges to pursue their joy. Love Points to You by Alice Lin is a sweet contemporary story following two rival classmates, Linda and Angela. The two fall for each other while working on a love-based video game that could set them up for future success in romance and beyond.

All the Stars Align
Deeply saddened by the sudden news of her parents’ divorce, Piper worries that her love life is doomed to fail before she can find her star-crossed soulmate. That is, until she meets him at a party, of course! When Piper enlists the help of her former best friend and love expert, Leo, to capture the attention of her beloved, things get even more complicated — and enchanting.
-
I Love You S’more
I Love You S’more is a delightful sapphic love story that reminds me of the first time I watched The Parent Trap and dreamt about spending an entire summer at camp, making new friends and developing new crushes. This is exactly the summer Ivy needs as she recovers from her first public breakup. When she signs up for the camp’s musical production, she meets the bossy co-director Rynn, who makes this summer one they’ll never forget. Swoon!
-
Camila Núñez’s Year of Disasters
One of my favorite rituals this year has been a daily tarot reading, so when I heard Miriam Zoila Pérez’s debut YA novel featured tarot cards and sweet sixteens, I knew I had to listen. Cuban American teen Camila struggles with anxiety and body image, and she is learning about her queerness along the way. She wants to be the best she can be — the best daughter, best dog walker, and best friend. But first, she’ll have the best love story of all — the one she has with herself.

Lady Knight
Available from:Perfect for regency-era and historical romance readers, Lady Knight by Amalie Howard has it all — humor, friendship, and swordplay. If you’re missing shows like Bridgerton, you’ll fall head over heels for this page-turner about the misadventures of a duke’s daughter and her brother’s best friend, a handsome rake named Rafi.
